Nancy Caroline (Jones) Johnston

Mrs. Nancy Caroline Jones Johnston, age 81 of North Wilkesboro passed away September 19, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Center Baptist Church with Rev. David Key and Rev. Dean Adams officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Nancy was born January 21, 1941, in Wilkes County to Rev. S.A. Jones and wife Nina. Nancy worked in the personnel office at Blue Ridge Shoe/ Melville Footwear for 18 years. She worked at Dr. Bond’s office for 22 years. She loved spending time with her family by attending birthday meals, cook-outs and going on vacations.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lorene Johnson and husband Royal, Stella Mae Bauguess and husband Junior, Hazel Hartzog and husband Ben, brothers Edward Jones and Bobby Jones.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a husband, Donald Whitley, one daughter Teresa Bare and husband Ricky, two sons, Greg Johnston and wife Markia, and John Johnston and wife Sue Anne. Five grandchildren, Anthony Stone and wife Adrianna, Alicia Dilbeck and husband Cody, Dustin Bare, Blake Johnston and fiancé Leah Triplett, Tyler Bauguess and husband Dylan. Six great-grandchildren, Ava Stone, Ansley Stone, Bella Stone, Haylee Dilbeck, Rhett Bare and Stockton Bauguess. Many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Nancy was looking forward to two more great-granddaughters in January and February 2023.
