Mrs. Mozelle Eve Jarvis Torrence, age 79 of North Wilkesboro, previously of the Mount Sinai community, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at her son’s home.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Marshall Souther and Rev. Joey Cambell officiating.
Mrs. Torrence was born February 4, 1946, in Wilkes County to Marcus and Rosa Hendren Jarvis. She was a faithful member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church as long as her health allowed her to attend. She was a loving wife, mother, and nana. She retired from Lowe’s Distribution, was a fine seamstress, and loved to garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Torrence; and four siblings, Ina, Rebecca, Avery, and Talmage.
She is survived by a daughter, Angie Torrence Haney of Wilkesboro; a son, Terry Torrence (Amber) of North Wilkesboro; six grandchildren, Alexus Haney Bullock, Dakota Torrence, Destiny Torrence, Taylyn Torrence, Cassady Absher, and Tyler Absher; six great-grandchildren, Mason Haney, Jolie Bullock, Amari Bullock, Thomas Shumate, Jackson Shumate, and Liam Absher; six sisters, Eula Chambers, Gracie Casey, Rachel Johnson, Bertha Wilcox (Bill), Oralee Souther (Marshall), and Christine Boone (Ray); three brothers, Roby Jarvis (Susan), Dean Jarvis (Donna), and Marcus Jarvis (Pam); and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mount Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery, c/o Flake Johnson, 994 Clint Johnson Road, Wilkesboro.
