Mrs. Mickey Dawson Adams, age 69 of Millers Creek ran into the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Wilkes Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Pastor Joey Moore officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:45 AM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Mickey was born October 17, 1955, in Wilkes County to Coy William “Bill” and Rita Joan Burgess Childress.  She was a member of Gordon Baptist Church.  Mickey was the best Mom in the world.  There was nothing more important than her family.  Her daughters and her grandchildren were her life. She loved animals, crafts, music and dancing. 

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents; Percy and Sally Burgess and a brother-in-law; Junior Church. 

She is survived by her husband James Anthony (Tony) Adams of the home, her mother; Rita Joan Burgess Childress of North Wilkesboro, three daughters; Derry Miller and husband Jeremy of North Wilkesboro, Megan Gambill and husband David of North Wilkesboro, Kelly Nichols and husband Jonathan of Millers Creek, two step-sons; Jamie Adams and wife Melonie, Jason Adams and wife Rhiannon, grandchildren; Kayla Clark, Olivia Meyerhoffer, Tyler Gambill, Landon Gambill, Jona Nichols, Cassie Gambill, Caleb Nichols, step-grandchildren; Austin Triplette, Alex Adams, Mitch Adams, two sisters; Diane Church and Stephanie Rigby and husband Ryan. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Ruby Pardue Blackburn Adult Day Care Center, PO Box 984, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
