Mr. McKinley “Dale” Pierce, age 79, of Roaring River, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

Dale lived life to the fullest. He was always energized and dedicated to his work, fire department, and community. He was the owner/operator of Roaring River Milling Company. Dale was extremely passionate about his acts of service for his community. He served with the Roaring River Volunteer Fire Department for 50+years and served as Fire Chief for 35+ years. He cared deeply about his family and friends and would go above and beyond to help others in their times of need. Dale Pierce was simply a man who chose to give rather than to receive. He rejected praise because he was always doing what he loved to do.

Funeral services with Fireman’s Honors will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Dean Adams and Rev. Allen Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Woodruff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Glade Valley. The family will receive friends from 10:45 AM until 12:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Dale was born February 4, 1946, in Alleghany County to Robert Alexander and Stella Elizabeth Crouse Pierce.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters; Lucy Jones Sheets, Susie Woodel, Grace Williams, three brothers; John Robert Pierce, Jack Pierce, and Bobby Dean Pierce.

He is survived by his daughter; Tina Kim Bise (Jeff) of Georgia, son; Joey Dale Pierce of Roaring River, five grandchildren; Ciara Pierce Johnson (Garrett), Carson Pierce, Chantelle Patch, Jarrod Bise, Kiersten Bise (Keaton Smith), three great-grandchildren; Tyler Denson, Zachary Denson, Ryatt Smith, one brother; Curly Pierce (Sarah), many cousins, nieces, and nephews; longtime special friend, Steve Dowell and the Nance family.
