Mary Hendrix Obituary

Mrs. Mary Joline Brown Hendrix, age 88 of Hays, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Maple Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Caudill and Rev Tim Pruitt officiating.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  

Joline was born May 23, 1932 in Wilkes County to Linville Eugene and Dovie Nell Pendry Brown. She worked many years in the textile industry including Troutman Industries and the Glove Plant.  She also worked a number of years for Northwest Foods preparing foods and catering. She loved her family dearly and was babysitter to several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren over the years.  Joline and her late husband, Ransom enjoyed traveling around the US with family and friends. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ransom Hendrix; a sister, Rose Patterson; and a brother, Donald Brown. 

Joline is survived by two daughters; Patricia Ann Wood of North Wilkesboro, Pamela Gail Honey of Chesapeake, VA, two sons; Ransom David Hendrix and wife Christine of North Wilkesboro, James Daniel Hendrix and wife Brenda of Shepherds Crossroads, eight grandchildren; Marsha Ann Hincher, Bryon Wood and wife Deena, Jamie Childress and husband Cory, Emma Jayne Honey, Bradley Richard Honey, Wendy Billings and husband Gary, April Anderson and Jimmy Anderson, fifteen great grandchildren; Joshua Hincher, Elliott Hincher and wife Brandy, Taylor Wood, Ethan Wood, Katherine Williams, Candice Stanley and husband, Austin, Savannah Martinez, Jacie Childress, Brody Childress, Brittney Rigo and husband Daniel, Emory Honey, Fisher Myers, Jr. Jolie Wyatt, Kali Wyatt, Sydney Wyatt, three great great grandchildren; Eli Hincher, Oaklyn Hincher, Connor Sidden;  four sisters, Hazel Roland and husband Hayden of North Wilkesboro, Reba Saunders of Charlotte, Peggy Riddle and husband Roger of Wilkesboro, and Barbara Alford and husband Barry of West Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
