Ms. Mary Lee Faw Dickson, age 77 of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Julius Blevins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mountlawn Memorial Park.
She was born August 29, 1947, in Wilkes County to Franklin Idell and Leah Myers Faw. She graduated from North Wilkes High School where she was voted Most Wittiest Girl in her class her senior year. She attended Forsyth Technical College for Business Administration. She retired after 30 years of service from Lucent Technologies as an Executive Secretary. She was a life-time member of Haymeadow Baptist Church in Hays and upon moving to Winston-Salem she attended Shallowford Presbyterian of Lewisville. She had a love and passion for cats, nature and flowers as well as traveling the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by sister, Gaye Faw Handy of Monroe; brother, Billy Ray Faw and wife Rebecca “Becky” of Millers Creek; two nieces, Selina Handy Harmon and finance James Robinson of Monroe and Leyla Faw Stambaugh, of Chapel Hill; two nephews, Christopher Trenton Handy of Tobaccoville and Matthew Blake Faw and wife Crystal of Christiansburg, VA; two great nieces, Kacie (Harmon) Watson and husband, Chris of Monroe and Karlie Harmon of Cedar Rapids, IA; four great nephews, Vincent Stambaugh and Nolan Stambaugh of Chapel Hill and Will Kelley and Payson Kelley of Christiansburg, VA; and one great-great nephew, Austin Watson of Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
