Marsha Owens

Marsha Owens, of North Wilkesboro, NC passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 67 years old. She went to her final resting place at Joan Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC.  Marsha was born June 19, 1957, in Albemarle, NC as the first daughter of James Marshall Gibson and Peggy Marie Preslar-Gibson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Ellen Paulette Gibson.

She is survived by her husband Steven Oliver Owens of the home, her son, Derek Owens (Kristy) of North Wilkesboro, two granddaughters; Tinley and Ruthie Owens, her sister; Marian Lynam of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and her nephew Marcus Lynam (Chelsea) of Fairfield, CT.

While Marsha’s life was gone too soon, she will always be remembered as a Wonderful Mom, Loving Wife, Best Mimi in the world, Big Sis and Aunt Marsha. Not to mention, a cherished friend offering support, wisdom and love to many friends and family whenever needed.

As per Marsha’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. We hope you hold Marsha and her family in your prayers. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marsha’s honor to the North Wilkes Middle School Girls Volleyball Team and/or Girls Basketball Team, NWMS Athletics, 2776 Yellow Banks Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Although she will no longer be able to watch her granddaughters on the court, her spirit will forever be a part of their future high school journey, cheering them on with love and pride from above.
