Mrs. Marjorie Roope Caudill, age 90 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, June 29, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Dr. Eric Caudill, Rev. Kipp Roten and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:30 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Marjorie was born April 9, 1936, in Wilkes County to William Freelin and Levaude Bryant Roope. She was a member of First Light Community Church. She retired from Lowe’s Companies Corporate Office after twenty-one and a half years of service. Marjorie served as a Patient-Family volunteer for Hospice of Wilkes for 14 years, volunteer for Community Health Action Committee, Wilkes County American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Reach to Recovery, Wilkes County unit coordinator volunteer trainer, Board of Directors, Mountain View Medical Center-20 years, Assistant Choir Director-Mountain View Baptist Church, Trustee for Woodmen of the World Camp 969 North Wilkesboro, and volunteer for the Byrd Ridge food Pantry.
She was raised in a family where hard work was essential, she developed a strong spirit, steadfast faith, and a servant’s heart. Her relationship with God guided her life, and she demonstrated His love through her devotion to her family, kindness to others, and willingness to service. Her faith, strength and compassion leave a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband, Jerry Donald Caudill and a daughter, Sheritha Monavea Caudill.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Caudill Oakley (Mike) of North Wilkesboro; sons, Dr. Eric Caudill (Beth) of Louisville, KY, Kevin Jerry Caudill (Fay) of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Rev. Matthew Caudill (Jordan), Kendra Watts, Devin Caudill (Courtney), Amanda Pruitt (Rev. Timothy II), Jehanna Niccloy (Mark), Abigail Prevette; great-grandchildren, Corban Pruitt (Aly, Caydence Pruitt, Justin Pruitt, Lillian Niccloy, Aila Jae Caudill, Brinley Caudill, Eli Caudill, Freelin Caudill, Tucker Watts, Easton Watts, Leena Caudill; great-great grandchild, Melody Pruitt; sisters, Dr. Frances Tharpe of Hays, Dixie Wentzel (Eli) of Hays and brothers, Larry Roope (Judy) of Emerald Isle and Thomas Roope of Hays.
