Marilyn Brinegar Proffit

Mrs. Marilyn Brinegar Proffit, age 69 of Wilkesboro passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday at Goshen Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Miller officiating.  Entombment will be in Mountlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Marilyn was born September 13, 1953 in Wilkes County to Kyle and Rosetta Harrold Brinegar.  She was a graduate of North Wilkes High School. She retired from One Main Financial where she worked for over 30 years and developed many long-lasting friendships along the way.  She was a devoted member of Goshen Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved her Lord and walked in faith daily.   She also loved birds and she lived for her daughter and granddaughter.  She loved all of her family and friends dearly.  

She was preceded in death by parents, sister and brother-in-law; Martha and husband Billy Athan. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter; Rosann Powell and husband Claude of Boomer, a granddaughter; Vera Lynn Powell of Boomer, step-granddaughter; Hayley Cappelli and husband Vincent of North Wilkesboro, step-grandson; Isaac Powell of Boomer, step-great grandchildren; Ayden, Masyn, Dominic, Thea and one on the way, a brother; Kyle Stephen Brinegar of North Wilkesboro, loving niece; Vernay Swaim, great niece; Alexx Hill, great nephew; Jonah Vittoe, two loving life-long friends; Shelia Nichols and Amy Michalski and many other loving nieces, great nephews and family members. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to H.O.P.E. Ministries, 514 Elkin Highway, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
