Mr. Luther Pardue Jr., age 88 of North Wilkesboro passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Accordius Health at Wilkesboro.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2020 at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ken Pardue and Mr. Ben Mullis officiating. Mr. Pardue may be viewed Friday, July 24, 2020 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Mr. Pardue was born August 16, 1931 in Wilkes County to Luther Franklin and Ilo Mastin Pardue. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Mr. Pardue loved the Lord and his family. He was blessed with 88 years on this earth, and I was blessed to call him Dad. Our father was a hard worker and proved to be a fighter to the end of his life. Dad worked at Chatham in Elkin for years where he retired, and also raised chickens for Tyson Foods. Dad loved to mow his yard and work outside, he loved his girls, and his love for his wife shown through to the end of his life. Dad also loved to go to church and was faithful to his church. I have been reminded of Paul in the Bible many times during my Dad’s passing. In 2 Timothy 4:7 Paul says “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. My father fought till the end, his course is finished, and he kept the faith. As for us we must keep fighting for Christ and stand upon Christ, we must stay focused and stay upon the course Christ has put before us, and we must keep the faith. If we have no faith, we have nothing. Love you Dad always.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers; George, Arlie, J.W., R.C., Clark and Jake Pardue.
He is survived by his wife; Imogene Welborn Pardue of the home, three daughters; Brenda Jordan and husband Keith of Huntersville, Sheila Edberg and husband Gary of Monroe and LeAnn Mullis and husband Ben of Roaring River, seven grandchildren; Melissa Smithey, Erin Poole, Ethan Edberg, Ashley Blythe, Makayla Cheek, Nathan Mullis and Aaron Mullis, seven great grandchildren; Maddie Smithey, Mallory Smithey, Mason Smithey, Hayden Poole, Beckham Poole, McKinley Cheek, and Logan Neil Blythe, one sister; Ruth Church of Wilkesboro and a brother; Ernest Pardue of Ronda.
