Lucy Jones Obituary
Mrs. Lucy Gray Disher Jones, age 91 of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Bethel Branch Church of Christ with Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Lucy was born on May 4, 1932, in Davidson County to Sidney Taylor Disher and Mary Isabel Wood Disher. She was a mother who raised two children in the Panama Canal Zone and a devoted grandmother to Austin D. Riddle. She loved to golf, swim, and play bridge with her friends. Lucy was employed by Belk for 15 years and was a longtime member of the Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clate Melvin Riddle and two sisters, Betty Disher Nifong and Nellie Mae Briles.
She is survived by one daughter, Regina Riddle Sanders of Clemmons; one son, Doyle Riddle and wife Phyllis of Winston-Salem; and one grandson, Austin D. Riddle
