Louise Fuller Obituary

Mrs. Louise Day Fuller, age 97 of Moravian Falls passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at her home. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Scenic Memorial Gardens Chapel with Dr. Burt Young officiating.  Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens. 

Mrs. Fuller was born September 25, 1922 in Wilkes County to Charles Gray and Stella DeEtte Hampton Day.

Mrs. Fuller was a 1939 graduate of North Wilkesboro School and attended and graduated from Watts Hospital School of Nursing in 1940 and in 1946 Post grad work in Obstetrics at New York Hospital.  Her nursing career included The Old Wilkes Hospital commonly known as the Doctor’s Building and Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.  She completed her career serving the people of Wilkes County with the Wilkes County Health Department as a Public Health Nurse.  While there she was asked by the Board of Directors to become licensed as a Family Nurse Practioner.  At 50 years of age she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and became one of the first licensed practicing Nurse Practioners in Wilkes County until she retired in 1983.   

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; Clyde Miller Waugh (1947-1982), and her second husband; Corodon S. Fuller, Jr. (1983-2004) six brothers; Charles Hampton Day, John Frank Day, James Edward Day, Bobby Fred Day, Jack Gray Day and Jerry Beaman Day. 

She is survived by two daughters; Rebecca Waugh Lowe and husband Arthur Lowe, Jr. of Moravian Falls and Martha Waugh Fuller and husband Bill Fuller of Greenville, SC, one son; Clyde Miller Waugh, Jr. and wife Cheryl of Thomasville, two stepsons; Bill Fuller of Greenville, SC and Corodon Fuller of Venice, FL., nine grandchildren; Janelle Maners of Bloomfield, IN, Sarah Wilson of Denver, CO, Laura Lowe Jones of Greenville, Myra Day Lowe of Moravian Falls, Johnathan Waugh of Chapel Hill, Matthew Waugh of Summerfield and Michael Waugh of Thomasville, Cory Fuller of Philadelphia, PA, Dianna Fuller of Ronkonkomo, NY, ten great grandchildren; Ella Jones, Perrin Jones, Hampton Jones, Layne Broyhill, Carlie Waugh, Abbie Waugh, Quinn Waugh, Chanler Waugh, Hudson Waugh, Beckett Waugh and one brother; David Day of Wilkesboro.
