Mrs. Loucella “Lucy” McGee Killen, age 86 of North Wilkesboro passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2025, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Millers Creek with Rev. Keith Lyon officiating. The body will lie in state beginning at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born June 13, 1938, in Wilkes County to Darice Edgar and Annie Ruth Faw McGee. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church since the 1950’s where she served as secretary for 30 years until her health declined.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Killen; son, Michael D. Killen; son-in-law, Ricky V. Handy; two sisters, Edna M. Todd and Joyce M. Johnson; and two brothers, George McGee and Clyde McGee.
She is survived by daughter, Brenda Killen Handy of North Wilkesboro; granddaughter, Amy Handy Lankford (Will) of Wilkesboro; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Lankford, Ethan Lankford and Erin Lankford; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Faw Killen of Millers Creek.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
