Linda Owings, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and faithful servant of the Lord entered her eternal home on February 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.  Linda took her heavenly journey at the age of 82.  She was born in Wilkes County, North Carolina on April 29, 1943.  She was the daughter of the late Ira Angus and Annie Belle Church.

Linda lived a life marked by unwavering faith, quiet strength and a servant’s heart.  As the devoted wife of Pastor Richard Gary Owings for 62 years, she stood faithfully beside him in his ministry, serving not only as his partner in life but as a pillar of strength in the church community.  She exemplified the role of a pastor’s wife with grace, humility and steadfast love.

Linda was a nurturing and devoted mother to her three children.  Her greatest joy was her family.  She treasured her role as a grandmother to her precious grandchildren, each of whom carried a special place in her heart.  Her home was a place of warmth, prayer, encouragement and open arms.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brothers; infant brothers, Harley Newlan Church and Joseph Brice Church, Garley Church of Athens, GA, Ira Church (Areta) of Wilkesboro, Clemoth Church (Jewel) of Athens, GA, sisters; Edith Canter (Don) of Wilkesboro, Opal Minton (Etsel) of North Wilkesboro, Oaklen Minton (Tom) of Wilkesboro and grandson; Sage Owings of Mooresville.

She is survived by her loving husband; Pastor Richard Gary Owings of  Sherrills Ford, a son; Richie Owings (Gina) of Millers Creek, daughters; Tracey Short (Ray) of Catawba, Stacey Huffman (Curtis) of Terrell, grandchildren; Jay Owings of Winston-Salem, Jada  Weaver (Matt) of Millers Creek, Adam Stewart (Kaitlin) of Athens, GA, Olivia Otàlora  (Sebastian) of Sherrills Ford, Alexis Adamczyk (Andrew) of Sherrills Ford, Emma Short of Hickory, Cash Huffman of Terrell, Sydney Huffman of Seattle, WA, Savannah Huffman of Denver, CO, great grandchildren; Jayanna Weaver, Maverick Weaver, Natalia Otàlora,  Walker Adamczyk, Autumn Stewart, sister; Nancy Waddell (John) of Wilkesboro, brother; Jerry Church (Martha) of Wilkesboro, sister-in-law; Joan Church of Athens, GA.

Though Linda will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise of eternal life and finds comfort knowing she is whole and in the presence of her Savior, whom she faithfully served all her days.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Jesus Life Worship Center in Moravian Falls with Jeff McCraw and JL Chappell officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:15 PM prior to the service at the church.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”  Matthew 25:23
