Linda Adelaide (Ellis) Huffman

Mrs. Linda Adelaide Ellis Huffman of Wilkesboro passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Reach Center with Pastor Kevin Brown and Meredith Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the church prior to the service Wednesday.

Mrs. Huffman was born January 21, 1939 in Wilkes County to Chelsie Hughes and Annie Jones Ellis. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Ruritan Club, Gideons Auxiliary, and a Knitting Club.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Nana’s light of her life was her grandson, Ellis B. Shacklette.  Nana and Ellis had a one of a kind relationship that will last a lifetime. Mrs. Huffman was an avid sports fan and looked forward to her nightly conversations with her great niece, Meredith Martin. Nana looked forward to her weekly lunch with her niece, Melinda Pegg, her great niece, her great, great niece Penelope Parsons and visitations with her great niece, Whitney Parsons, and her great, great niece Annabelle Parsons. Nana also loved getting facetime calls from her great granddaughter, Mila Hemric.

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie Wayne Ellis and Royce Ellis.

Mrs. Huffman is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Huffman of the home; a daughter, Patricia Huffman Shacklette and husband Peter of Roanoke Rapids; a son, Keith Huffman and wife Barbara of Wilkesboro; three grandchildren, Ellis Shacklette, Brad Calloway, and Brittany Hemrick; one great granddaughter, Mila Hemric; a brother, Charles Ellis and wife, Sue of Wilkesboro; a sister in-law, Peggy Ellis of North Wilkesboro;.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Sports Ministry 239 Champion Rd. Wilkesboro, NC  28697.

Pallbearers are Jason Pegg, Alan Wingler, Thomas Wingler, Steven Ellis, Jeff Ellis, Derrick Ellis, Eric Ellis, and Barry Church.
