Ms. Linda Ann Blevins, loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many, took her last breath on this earth, Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center. She was born June 23, 1941, to Reid William and Bessie Ellis Blevins. She graduated from West Wilkes High School class of 1959.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Aiken, Rev. Joel Blevins, Rev. John Triplett and Rev. Ethan Williams officiating. The family will receive from 12:30 until 1:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Linda was a faithful member of Welcome Home Baptist Church for almost her entire life. She enjoyed singing in the choir and served as a Sunday School teacher, Women on Mission member and Church Clerk for many years. Until her health declined, she volunteered weekly at H.O.P.E. Ministry of Wilkes. She retired from over 30 years of employment at Wilkes Regional Medical center, the majority of which was spent as an Operating Room Scrub Technician, where she was lovingly known as “Lulu”. She assisted Dr. Leo Baugham in private practice after her retirement as well. She also was extremely talented at crafting-sewing, cross-stitching, and especially knitting – and developed many precious friendships through these endeavors. She also loved watching college sports, particularly basketball. If you knew her, you knew not to call during an ACC basketball game because she might not answer. She likely knew as much about the sport as many of the players.
Linda loved her friends and family dearly. She served as a faithful prayer warrior for them her entire life. Although she never married nor had children, she doted on her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Even as she aged, she always wanted to sit at the “kids’ table” at family gatherings in order to spend more time with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Dr. Willard Troy Blevins, her brother-in-law, Daryl West, and her great-nephew, Ryan Lisenba.
She is survived by her sister, Brenda West, of Elkin, her sister-in-law, Myrtle Broyhill Blevins, of Opelika, Alabama nieces, Tonya Lisenba (Barry) of Montevallo, Alabama and Amy Eller (John) of Huntersville, North Carolina; Nephews, Cameron Blevins (Barbara) of Knoxville, Tennessee and James West of Wooster, Ohio, as well as several great-great nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her faithful canine companion, Lily.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” – Psalm 116:15
