Mrs. Leona Pearl Hensley Toms, age 97, widow of David Earl Toms, died Thursday, April 2, 2020 at her home.
A memorial service will be in Fort Benning, Ga. at a later date.
Mrs. Toms was born November 3, 1922 in Linn, Missouri to George Dewey and Opal Alma Baker Hensley. She loved to paint ceramics, crochet, and cook.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Whitehurst, and one son, Steven Earl Toms.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Golds and husband, Oren, of Purlear; seven grandchildren, David Golds, Sherry Golds, Rebecca Staley and husband Shane, Bill Golds, and wife, Miranda, Chris Golds, and wife, Beth, Robin Lake and husband Keith, Ray Whitehurst and wife Natalie; four great-grandchildren, Dusty Owens, Kennedy Burt, Austin Staley and wife, Morgan, and Madilynn Golds; two great-great-grandchildren, Conner Owens, Matthias Owens; and one sister, Lorene Hensel.
