Mr. Lee Winfree Taylor, age 82 of Wilkesboro, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, surrounded by his family at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Arbor Grove Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Susan Pillsbury-Taylor officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 Honor Guard and the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard will be in the Church Columbarium. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM prior to the service at the church.
Lee was born November 6, 1943, in Lynchburg, Virginia to Robert G. and Margaret (Gran) Winfree Taylor. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Lee was a minister in all fields working with people. He was a psychiatric medic in the Army during the Vietnam War. Lee was an estate litigator, police officer, photographer, motorcyclist, equestrian, and a firearms expert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Judy Howerton, Douglass Taylor, and one brother; Robyn Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife; Susie Pillsbury-Taylor of the home, daughter; Blaire Flynn of Lynchburg, VA, son John Piercy (Julie) of Lynchburg, VA, four grandchildren; Kinzie, Taylor, Haley, Kaitlyn, three brothers-in-law; Stephen W. Pillsbury of Alabama, Ralph T. Pillsbury of Alabama, John C. Pillsbury and wife Paula of Alabama.
