Laura Faye (Triplett) Elledge

Laura Faye Triplett Elledge, age 101, widow of Mathis Elledge died Friday, March 20, 2026, at her daughter’s home. She was 34 days from turning 102 years old.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lewis Fork Baptist Church, Purlear, NC with Rev. Dwayne Andrews and the Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Elledge was born on April 25, 1924, in Wilkes County to John Osco Triplett, Sr. and Estelle Shepherd Triplett. She retired from Bernhardt Furniture Industries. She was a member of Lewis Fork Baptist Church for 90 years, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elledge is preceded in death by her husband, Mathis Ellis Elledge; by her son, Samuel Gary Elledge; by her sisters, Doris Triplett Swanner, Dortha Dean Triplett Hall; brothers, John O Triplett, Jr. and Clyde Triplett.

She is survived by her son, Mathis Stephen Elledge (Judy) and Dr. Ann Elledge Shortt (Vincent deceased); brother, Glenn Triplett; five grandchildren, Kimberly Eller (Neal), Jackie Greene (Aaron), Tamara Shepard (Brian), Sheri Chapman (Curtis), and Mark Elledge (Melissa).

She is also survived by seven great grandchildren: Cody Eller (Katie), Sydney Eller, Alex Parker, Jake Shepard (Valerie), Cole Hayes, Luke Shepard, Aaron Elledge; two great-great granddaughters: Braelynn and Shelby Elledge.

Mrs. Elledge loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved art, painting, baking and was an avid country music fan. She was grateful for her cousin and best friend, Nancy Ann Eller.
