Kyle "Steve" Brinegar

Mr. Kyle “Steve” Brinegar, age 79, of North Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at his home. 

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2026, at Mountlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Kevin Souther, and Rev. Jonah Vittoe officiating. 

Steve was born October 4, 1946, in Wilkes County to Kyle Monroe and Rosetta Harrold Brinegar. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend his time hunting and fishing. Steve was a devoted Christian and he loved Jesus. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Athan and Marilyn Proffit. 

He is survived by three nieces, Rosann Powell (Claude) of Wilkesboro, Vernay Swaim (Devon) of Yadkinville, and Cindi Dixon (Robin) of Yadkinville; three great-nieces, Alexandra Hill (Alex) of Clemmons, Vera Powell of Wilkesboro, Hayley Cappelli of Wilkesboro; four great-nephews, Jonah Vittoe (Katie) of Yadkinville, Robin Dixon of Yadkinville, Ryan Dixon of Yadkinville, Isaac Powell of State Road; ten great-great nieces and nephews, Noah and Ellie Hill, Ivory and Faye Powell, Ayden, Masyn, Dominic, Lucca, Navy, and Thea Cappelli. 

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Flint Hill Baptist Church, 1425 Flint Hill Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
