Kent Hayes Caudill, 63, of Wilkesboro, passed away February 2nd, 2026, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, February 9th, 2026, at Wilkesboro Baptist Church with Dr. Tad Craig and Pastor Mark Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm prior to the service at Wilkesboro Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Kent Caudill was born August 29th, 1962, in Wilkes County, to Billy Leo Caudill and Nancy Lea Hayes Caudill. He is preceded in death by his parents and survived by one son; Zachary Caudill of Wilkesboro.
Kent enjoyed a great career at Market Basket Food Stores for 35 years serving as manager of store operations. He will be sorely missed by all the store staff and management team.
Kent’s greatest joy came from watching his son grow up into the young man he is today. He frequently told stories about travels to Zach’s golf matches during high school that took them all the way to a State Championship.
All that knew Kent saw his unending charity to anyone in need. He had compassion and generosity for co-workers, friends and strangers alike. He met everyone with a smile and always had an encouraging word for them. He was a wonderful host and loved for his friends to come over to watch a sporting event and eat some ‘good groceries.’
Kent enjoyed lifelong friendships with many of his elementary school and high school classmates and enjoyed spending time with them. Kent invested in each person he met, which included all his neighbors at W. Kerr Scott lake where he was raised and built his home and life with Zach.
Kent’s departure was sudden, but his family and friends can rest in the knowledge that he trusted fully in the Lord Jesus Christ for his eternal salvation. We will see him again, if we have a personal relationship with Christ.
Kent was a devoted member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church.
