Kenneth Rodney "Chigger" Johnson

Mr. Kenneth Rodney “Chigger” Johnson, age 71, of Wilkesboro passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

Kenneth was born on April 22, 1954, in Wilkes County to Warner and Dorothy Louise Johnson. He was a member of Oakwoods Baptist Church. He retired from Western Carolina Electrical Supply Company after many years of service.

He is preceded in death by his father, Warner Johnson; brother, Warney Carson “Tossy” Johnson and stepfather, Britt Sheets.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Gail Johnson of the home; mother, Dorothy Louise Johnson Sheets of Wilkesboro; daughter, Kristy Hamilton (Tim) of North Wilkesboro; son, Ross Johnson (Erica) of Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Nate Hamilton, Nolan Hamilton, Hawkins Johnson, Riggins Johnson, Collins Johnson; sister, Wanda Clonch (Gary) of Wilkesboro and brother, Randie Johnson of Wilkesboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY, 10018.
