Kathy Lou Sidden

Ms. Kathy Lou Sidden, age 72 of North Wilkesboro passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. 

She was born September 4, 1952, in Wilkes County to Wesley Chester and Mary Lou Stamper Sidden. Kathy is from a family of twelve siblings. She was the glue to the family being the eldest daughter. She spent her whole life taking care of her sister Mary Lois, who was born with cerebral palsy. She also took care of her mother in her last days. 

Kathy was a social scholar. She read a lot and knew everyone’s birthday and who was who in the family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Bertha Sidden Bowman, Carolyn Sidden Lambert, Mary Lois (Sissy) Sidden, four brothers; Billy Edward Sidden, Jerry Lee Sidden, Daniel Matthew Sidden, and Kenneth Ray Sidden. 

She is survived by four brothers; Bobby Dean Sidden (Nancy) of China Grove, Thomas Wesley Sidden (Shirley) of North Wilkesboro, Charles Stevenson Sidden (Robin) of Hays, and Christopher Duane Sidden (Julie) of Sparta, and many nieces and nephews that she loved deeply.
