Karla Jean Prater

Mrs. Karla Jean Prater, age 63 of North Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel Pastor Michael Brinegar officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Prater was born February 3, 1958 in Marion, OH to Jack Neal and Dorothy Louise Beaver Prater.  Karla loved gardening, exercising, swimming, an avid thriftier.  She loved being a great Mom and cook, especially fried chicken and biscuits and gravy.  She was a member of His Light Ministries of Wilkesboro. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson; Carter. 

She is survived by two daughters; Serina Bailey and husband Torey of Hickory, Amie Weldy of Winston-Salem, one son; Eddie Weldy and wife April of King, nine grandchildren; Mya, Eric, Paige, Aaliyah, Brooklyn, Parker, Anthony, Bishop and Arabella and one on the way, one great grandchild; Xavier and one on the way, one sister; Cheryl Prater of Germanton, three brothers; Vince Prater and wife Robin of Winston-Salem, Jackie Prater of Germanton and Rodney Prater of Walnut Cove and former husband; Randy Lee Kiger. 

Flowers will be accepted.
