Mrs. June Roberts Stamper, age 90 of North Wilkesboro passed away Sunday at her home.
Family graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Timothy Pruitt, II officiating.
Mrs. Stamper was born April 10, 1931 in Wilkes County to Franklin Edward, Sr. and Rachel Kilby Roberts. June was a dedicated volunteer with the Wilkes Senior Center and Wilkes Meals on Wheels. She loved to garden, was an avid crafter and spent many years as a volunteer with the 4-H and the Republican Party.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Henry Stamper, a son; Harvey Stamper, two grandsons; Ian Scott Stamper and Cody Woodard, three sisters; Dare Miller, Doris Yabarra, Clara Wyatt and three brothers; Lorenzo Roberts, Franklin Roberts, Jr. (Peso) and Dean Roberts.
She is survived by two daughters; Judy Adams and husband Clay of Millers Creek, Susan Stamper and Billy Spicer of Millers Creek, a son; Curtis Stamper and wife Betty of North Wilkesboro, grandchildren; Sherry Hall and husband Michael, Stephanie Eller and husband Nolan, Scott Stamper and wife Amanda, Steven Severt and wife Susie, Michelle Severt and John Carlton, John Stamper and wife Kendra, Harvey Stamper and wife Laney, Lee Pardue and Jason Pardue, thirty great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren and a sister; Virginia Haynes and a daughter-in-law; Carolyn Hamby.
The family wishes to thank Mountain Valley Hospice nurse, Amanda Handy and the caring CNA’s for their hours of compassionate care of Mrs. Stamper.
