Mr. Julius Andrew “Pete” Harris, Sr., age 84 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, May 18, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist-High Point Medical center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Greg Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Harris Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Pete was born November 16, 1941 in Wilkes County to John Andrew and Audry McCurdy Harris. He retired from the Wilkes County Board of Education with Fairplains Elementary School at the age of 54. He loved coon hunting with his Redbones, deer hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He enjoyed living life on the farm with his loving children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife; Betty Sue Eller Harris, and brothers; Harry and Clevelan Harris.

He is survived by a daughter; Alisa Harris (Johnny Welborn) of South Carolina, two sons; Julius Harris, Jr (JoAnn) of Wilkesboro and Jason Harris (Lori) of South Carolina, grandchildren; Amanda Harris, LaCelia Harris, Raven Blount, Ani Harris, and Eason Harris, and sister; Marthia Triplett of Ohio, many friends and extended family.
