Judy was born May 31, 1945 in Wilkes County to Bronard and Lily Mae Wayne. Judy was a devoted housewife and homemaker, who dedicated her life to raising her children and grandchildren as well as helping with many in the community. She was an active member of her church where she sang in the choir and enjoyed being part of multiple church functions. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, attending school functions and sporting events for her children and grandchildren, and could be easily heard cheering them on! In her later years she took great pleasure in focusing on raising their youngest grandson, Nicholas, who was the light of the home and “kept them young.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Martin Ashley, Jr., and one daughter, Jamie Ashley Beamon.
Judy is survived by one daughter, Lorie Kerhoulas of Wilkesboro, one son, James Martin Ashley III “Jimmy.” of Wilkesboro; five grandchildren, Anna Kerhoulas Lafave and husband, Ethan, Stephen Kerhoulas and fiancé Clair Colburn, Martin Beamon, Jacob Beamon, and Nicholas Ashley; three great grandchildren, Emma Lafave, Charlotte Kerhoulas, and Addy Billings.
