Mrs. Joyce Bumgarner Myers, age 72 passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, December 31, 2021 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Jamie McGuire officiating.  Burial will be at Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45pm prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Joyce was born September 27, 1949 in Wilkes to Lee Roy Bumgarner and Ella Mae Huffman Bumgarner. Joyce retired from Wachovia after 40 years as a Computer Analyst and after retirement she worked part-time as a receptionist at Accordius of Wilkesboro. She loved gardening, canning, her animals and she loved to travel.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband; Jerry Wayne Myers.

She is survived by her mother; Ella Mae Huffman Bumgarner of Wilkesboro formerly of Purlear, her daughter; Kimberly Myers Guerin of Scugog, Canada, two sisters; Linda Bumgarner Howell and Melissa Bumgarner Hall both of Purlear and seven grandchildren; John Dallas Welborn and wife Clarissa, Nicholas Jacob Guerin, Natalie Elizabeth Guerin, Anneliese Teresa Guerin, Bradley Thomas Guerin, Brandon Lee Speaks Welborn and wife Hannah, Sophie Speaks Welborn, and a special nephew; Derek Lee Bumgarner and wife Carol.
