Mrs. Joyce Eller Douglas, age 80 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 20, 2026, at Baptist Home Baptist Church with Pastor David Jones officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM. Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 PM Thursday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Joyce was born September 16, 1945, in Wilkes County to William Glenn and Lula Hall Eller.
Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She treasured spending time with her family and found great joy in being surrounded by those she loved. She especially enjoyed her time at Beauty Salon 405, where she shared laughter and friendship with so many dear friends.
Joyce truly never met a stranger. She had a beautiful smile that could light up a room, and a way of making everyone feel welcome. Her faith was the foundation of her life. A faithful member of Baptist Home Baptist Church, her heart’s desire was to make sure everyone she met knew Jesus and experienced His love.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband; Bill Gray (Dawn’s father) and her second husband; Glenn Winford “Jimmy” Douglas, Jr., a grandson; CJ Michael, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Earl Eller (Joyce), Wade Eller (Fannie), three brothers-in-law; John Ellis, Eb Barnette and Herman Mitchell.
She is survived by a daughter; Dawn Michael (James) of North Wilkesboro, two step-daughters; Pam Gill (Rob) of Statesville, Angie Annas (Scott) of Hickory, grandchildren; Joshua Call (Marie), Bryan Call, Chelsea Schenz (Devin), Lauren Foster (Adam), Kelly Williams, Kristin Lackey (Ellie), Andrew Lackey (Hannah), great grandchildren; Eden and Esme Call, Jaclyn, Farrah and Kathryn Billings, Nora and Derek Schenz, Wyatt, Ryleigh and Maverick Foster, Leighton Lackey, Sawyer and Finnley Lackey, three sisters; Esther Ellis, Sarah Barnette, Madge Mitchell all of North Wilkesboro and a brother; Jay Eller (Almeda) of North Wilkesboro, and special nephew; Johnny Barnette.
