Josephine Anne (Winterson) Rankin

Ms. Josephine Anne Winterson Rankin, age 88 of Millers Creek, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at her home.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM Monday, August 18, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 PM at St. John Baptiste de LaSalle Catholic Church, North Wilkesboro, with Father John Hanic officiating. 

Ms. Rankin was born November 13, 1936, in Baltimore, MD, to William Gassaway Winterson and Catherine Josephine Ball Winterson, and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Loretta Rogers and Judith “Judy” Bain.

She is survived by her son, Joe Rankin and wife Sandra of Wilkesboro; her granddaughter, Ashley Rankin Smith and husband Eric of Millers Creek; and her sister, Catherine “Kay” Landry and husband Richard of Gastonia.
