Mr. Joseph “Bucky” Lane Foster, also known as Bucky, age 62 of Myrtle Beach, SC formerly of Wilkesboro passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at his home.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Scenic Memorial Gardens with Rev. David Wellborn and Rev. Robert Duncan officiating. 

Joseph was born on October 15, 1962, in Wilkes County to Raymond Glenn and Jean Chauncey Foster. 

Joseph was a 1980 graduate of Wilkes Central High School and a 1984 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 315 in Moravian Falls where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  After graduation he returned to Wilkes and opened Joseph of Wilkes a successful florist that brought new floral options for the people of Wilkes which everybody loved. He was extremely creative. As a nurse, Joseph was very compassionate about his patients.  He received several recognitions (Nurse of the Year) from the hospital.  Joseph loved to entertain and received a certificate for studying Northern Italian Cuisine.  He was a member of Oakwoods Baptist Church and was retired from Grand Strand Medical Center as a Registered Nurse.   

He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Tessie Call Foster and maternal grandparents, James and Lura Chauncey. 

He is survived by his mother, Jean Foster of Wilkesboro; brother, Jeffrey Foster of Wilkesboro; two nieces, Victoria Foster of Jefferson, Laiken Foster Vandenberg and husband Will of Wilkesboro and a nephew, Christian Foster of Wilkesboro.
