Mr. Johnny Elton Tharpe, age 68 of Roaring River, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at SECU Hospice Care Center in Yadkinville.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church in Ronda. Johnny loved to travel in his younger years. He loved collecting frogs and Harley-Davidson T-shirts and enjoyed spending time on his farm.
He was born on November 4, 1956, in Wilkes County to Loton Everette and Bobbie Ray Holloway Tharpe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Crystal Tharpe; two nephews, Jason Reinhardt and Michael Shawn Tharpe; and two nieces, Ashley Macemore and Carrigan Cerni.
He is survived by three sisters, Vonda Falls (Randy) of Hamptonville, Deborah Shoupe (Marc) of Cincinnati, OH, and Tina Macemore of Ronda; brother, Michael Tharpe (Beckie) of Statesville; and many more nieces and nephews.
