Rev. John “William” Souther, age 67 passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 5, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Millsaps officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens following the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

William was born on March 06, 1958, in Iredell County to Billy Edward and Betty Jean Deal Souther. Rev. William was a devoted preacher for over thirty-six years. He pastored White Plains Baptist Church for seventeen years. He grew up in a musical family and played a ton of bluegrass and Christian music. He was also very involved with his community and his faith.

He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Edward Souther.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn Walker Souther of the home; mother, Betty Jean Deal Souther; daughters, Jennifer Cork (David) of North Wilkesboro, Heather Carr (Ace) of Winston-Salem, Allison Hacket (Coty) of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Andrew Cork, Matthew Cork, Emma Hackett; sister, Sharon Flinchum (Ronnie) of North Wilkesboro; and brothers, Claude Souther (Sharon) of North Wilkesboro and Phillip Souther (Linda) of Millers Creek.
