Joe Roten

Mr. Joe Roten, age 62 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, July 6, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Gary Benesh officiating.  

Mr. Roten was born November 4, 1957 in Wilkes County to Elmer Lee and Fannie Frances Osborne Roten. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by his wife; Sheila Shumate Roten of the home, two daughters; Traci Roten Hewes of Graham and Kelly Roten Graham and husband John of North Wilkesboro, four grandchildren; Haley Kaya Graham, Roy Carter Hewes, William Gradyn Graham and Davis Jackson Hewes, three brothers; Kenny Roten and wife Linda of Frankfurt, KY, James (Jim) Roten and Robyn Starr of North Wilkesboro and Gary Roten and wife Rebecca of North Wilkesboro and two sisters-in-law; Melinda Haynes and husband Keith and Lisa Dowell.  Also several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews that all love Uncle Joe. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 9, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel Street, Newton, MA 02458.
