Joe Davis Pardue

Mr. Joe Davis Pardue, age 96 of Ronda passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family Thursday, May 27, 2021. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 31, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Murphy, Rev. Scott Church and Rev. Ken Pardue officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Mr. Pardue will lie-in-state from 12:30 until 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church.  There will be a public viewing from 12:00 until 5:00 PM Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Mr. Pardue was born June 1, 1924 in Wilkes County to Martin and Julia Brannon Pardue.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during World War II. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, three sisters; Florence Pardue, Polly Pruitt, Edith Bell and three brothers; Armstrong, Tom and Arvil Pardue. 

He is survived by his wife; Mildred Bare Pardue of the home, two daughters; Delita Staley and husband Steve of Ronda, Debbie Stutts of Hamptonville, two sons; J.D. Burris and wife Ellen of Kings Mountain, Lance West and JaLynn of Alto, NM, nine grandchildren; Chris West, Adam Staley, Whitney Stutts, Josh Staley, Lauren Hylarides, Brian Burris, Jason Burris, Jennifer Steward and Quinn Loftis,  and nine great grand children, one sister; Kate Somers of Ronda and a sister-in-law; Jennie Pardue of Ronda. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3982 Clingman Road, Ronda, NC 28670 or Wake Forest Care At-Home Hospice, 126 Executive Drive, Suite 110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697. 

The family request that everyone attending the service, please wear a face covering.
