Mr. Joe Kermit Johnson, age 75 of Roaring River passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at his home. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 15, 2023 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Mark Wood officiating.  Burial with Military Honors by the United States Air Force will be in the Roaring River Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

Joe was born October 31, 1947 in Wilkes County to John A. and Ellen Mae Wood Johnson.  He was a graduate of North Carolina State University.  He served in the United States Air Force and was an active member of Roaring River Baptist Church.  He retired from Yadkin Valley Bank in 2011 after 40 years in the banking industry.  He was  active in numerous civic organizations during his career and was an avid golfer and gardener.   

Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many in Northwest North Carolina. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by his wife; Lou Eva Howard Johnson of the home, two sons; Daniel Johnson and wife Jennifer of North Wilkesboro, Patrick Johnson and wife Melissa of Mocksville, grandsons; Noah Johnson, Gabe Dietrick and Eamon Dietrick and a sister; Gail McCann of Roaring River. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Wilkes High School Men and Women’s Golf Team, 13315 NC Highway 268, Ronda, NC  28670.
