Mr. Joe Marris Clonch, age 73 husband of Alice Sebastian Clonch, of North Wilkesboro went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
Private funeral services will be held at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Shumate and Rev. Justin Blevins officiating. The public may view from 1:00PM until 5:00 PM Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Joe was born June 5, 1947 in Wilkes County to Roy Lee and Fannie Jane Blackburn Clonch. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and sang in the choir for forty plus years. He was retired from Lowe’s Companies as a Delivery Manager and also worked at Blevins Building Supply after retirement. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 – 1968. Serving in Vietnam and Okinawa.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Billie Sue Yount, Margaret Clonch, and Kate Clonch.
Joe is survived by his wife, Alice Sebastian Clonch of the home; three daughters, Dr. Susan Blackburn of North Wilkesboro, Amanda Swift and husband Joshua of Lewisville, Erin Smith and husband BJ of Wilkesboro; two sons, Jason W. Clonch and wife Tiffany of Wilkesboro and Joel Clonch and wife Allison of North Wilkesboro; eleven grandchildren, Anna Blackburn (Andrew Shores), Andrew Blackburn, Matthew Blackburn, Cheyenne Clonch, Grayson Clonch, Sophia Swift, Jack Swift, Ella Smith, Liam Clonch, Caroline Clonch, Drew Clonch; a sister, Sadie Queen of North Wilkesboro; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
