Mrs. Joan Ferrel Gant McGinnis, age 85 of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.

Joan was born October 11, 1940, in Iredell County to Mike Lee and Frances Hampton Gant. She was a member at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Thomas Edwin McGinnis, brother; Michael Gant and daughter-in-law Chris McGinnis.

She is survived by her four sons; Thomas “Tommy” McGinnis (Lisa) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jon McGinnis (Kelly) of Mooresville, NC, Richard McGinnis (Tina) of Mooresville, NC, Robert McGinnis (Becky) of York, SC, ten grandchildren; Kirby McGinnis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kassidy McGinnis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Will McGinnis of New York, Alex McGinnis of Charlotte, NC, Bethany Gilleland (Cole) of Rock Hill, SC, Taylor Estanislao (Jericho) of Huntersville, NC, Madison Armstrong (Chad) of Cleveland, NC, J.T. McGinnis of York, SC, Jacob McGinnis (Madeline) of Dallas, Joshua McGinnis of York, SC, and great-grandchild; Mila Estanislao.
