JoAnn (Denny) Russell

Mrs. JoAnn Denny Russell, age 63, of Roaring River passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at her home. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Tracy Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Halls Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

JoAnn was born April 18, 1962, in Wilkes County to L.D. and Faye Hayes Denny. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

She is survived by her husband; Raymond Daye, two daughters; Kristy McCann of Roaring River, Misty Harrold (William) of North Wilkesboro, son; Michael McCann of Hamptonville, five grandchildren; Payton Wood, Braylin Pyles, Levi McCann, Kaylie McCann, Ayden Bowers, two sisters; Kathy Underwood (Larry) of North Wilkesboro, Janet Denny Ray of North Wilkesboro, three brothers; Johnny Denny of North Wilkesboro, Junior Denny (Carol) of McGrady, and Terry Denny (Karen) of Wilkesboro.
