Jimmie Dean Moretz

Mr. Jimmie Dean Moretz, age 56, of Millers Creek passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at his home.

Graveside service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Mountlawn Memorial Park with Pastor Derek Kilby officiating.  

Mr. Moretz was born February 29, 1964 in Wilkes County to James Odean and Margie Auton Moretz.  He was a long distance truck driver for several different local companies.  He was self-employed, doing small engine repair and was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Atonement.  Mr. Moretz was known for his love of the holidays by his elaborate Christmas and Halloween displays for many years. 

He is survived by His wife, Annette Witherspoon Moretz of the home; one son, James Dean Moretz of Millers Creek; one grandson, Braxton Leonard of Millers Creek ; one daughter, Cynthia Nicole Leonard ;two sisters; Penny Wilmot and husband, Don of Jacksonville, FL, Regina Elledge of Lexington, NC  ; one Brother, Mark Lyle Moretz and wife, Cindy of Purlear. 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Goshen Fire Department, 5450 NC 268, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 or to Champion Fire Department, 439 Champion Mt. Pleasant Road, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
