Jerry Willie Patterson

Mr. Jerry Willie Patterson, age 73 of North Wilkesboro passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his home. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Cane Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Absher and Rev. Bruce Rhoades officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. 

Mr. Patterson was born April 1, 1948 in Wilkes County to James H. and Cordie Whitley Patterson.  He was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church.  He loved to fish, loved to watch birds, deer and other animals.  He was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran and he loved his family.  He had lots of friends and never met a stranger. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Vergie Mae Absher Patterson, a great grandson; Austin Smathers, a sister; Joyce Stroud and two brothers; his twin brother; Terry Patterson and Dennis Patterson. 

He is survived by two daughters; Debbie Shumate and husband Robert of McGrady, Bobbie Cranfill and husband Don of Hays, four grandchildren; Bryan Shumate, Joey Shumate, Dianna Laws Cloud, Amy Cranfill, seven great grandchildren; Cole Shumate, Garrett Shumate, Emma Shumate, Taelyn Shumate, Caleb Smathers, Kalei Perales, Lucas Perales, a great great grandson; Bentley Smathers and several nieces and nephews. 

Flowers will be accepted. 

The family requests that everyone attending the service please wear a face covering.
