Jennifer Thompson Luke left this earth to meet her precious Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her “Forever Home” in Moravian Falls, NC. She was a beloved Wife, Mom, sister, Aunt Gigi, and friend, born April 3, 1970 in Cabarrus County to Ken and the late Kaylene Thompson.
Jennifer is survived by Marcus Luke, the love of her life, and husband of 34 years. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her son Cain and her daughter (in-law) Katherine. She is also survived by her sisters Beth Neal and Kim Suther, as well as many nieces and nephews who were all incredibly special to her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
After high school, Jennifer attended Wingate College on a music scholarship before deciding to change career paths and become a nurse, which was truly her life’s calling. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte in 1993, and went back to obtain her BS in Nursing a few years later, practicing for 33 years. 20 of those were as a floor nurse at CMC, University, and Baptist Hospitals, and her last 13 were with Aetna, taking her care to the insurance side of the healthcare industry.
Jennifer had a strong desire to learn and better herself, completing a 230 hour course in 2005 to become a certified yoga instructor, earning two Master's Degrees in Nursing and Psychology, and starting her journey of earning a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
A lifelong worshipper of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Jennifer attended Harmony United Methodist Church in Concord until she was married there on June 22, 1991. Jennifer and Marcus then attended First Assembly in Concord for many years. Jennifer was active in leading and helping lead worship with her amazing singing voice everywhere she attended. For all that heard her sing, it truly was angelic. That heart of worship was with her until the moment she was called home, expressing many times that she was “excited” to soon be taking her seat in the Heavenly Choir.
Jennifer cherished her time with Marcus, Cain, Kat, and showered on her pets Olive, Gallagher, Asher, Doby, and Frosty with love. She enjoyed walking, hiking, going to the movies, and spending family vacations at the beach.
A service celebrating Jennifer’s life will be held at her beloved family home in “The Falls” on Saturday, November 1, 2025. The family will receive friends at 450 Mount Carmel Rd, Moravian Falls, NC from 10-11 with a service afterwards. There will be food and fellowship after the service to continue to celebrate the life of our beloved Jennifer.
