Mr. Jason Ray Price, age 47 of Hamptonville, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at Duke University Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel in North Wilkesboro with Rev. Eddie Tharpe and Rev. Randy

Johnson officiating. Keith Bobbitt, Former Director at Camp Raven Knob will also speak.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will

follow at the St. Paul Methodist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville. For those unable to attend, the video will be live-streamed and later archived on the Internet at the Reins-

Sturdivant website.

Jason was born December 1, 1975 in Elkin to Donnie Ray Price and Kara Ann Tucker Gardner and friend Tim Sommers who survive, along with stepmother; Judy Price of Jonesville, and step-sister, Sandra Reavis (Michael) of Hamptonville. His brother Cory Price preceded him in death.  Jason was a lifelong volunteer and leader in the Arlington and Jonesville Fire

Departments, as well as the Yadkin County Rescue Squad where he currently served as Assistant Chief, building many enduring friendships along the way. He began his

career in emergency medical services after earning his EMT Certificate at Surry Community College. Jason’s commitment to the community and service remains an

inspiration to us all.

Jason found a true calling in life working with the Old Hickory Council Boy Scouts at Camp Raven Knob. There he served the camp over the past three decades as staff in

the Health Lodge, Dining Hall, and Trading Post. Since 1994 he was a dedicated member of the Scouts honor group, Order of the Arrow, and served as the Chief of

Wahissa Lodge #118 in 1996. Jason also served in multiple advisory roles within the lodge and the Sapona Chapter, regularly serving on the medical staff at National Order

of the Arrow Conferences. He will be dearly missed by his Scouting family. 

In 2017, Jason completed his degree at Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta and after graduation became a valued member of the staff at Reins Sturdivant in

North Wilkesboro.

Yadkin County Rescue Squad, 1116 W. Main Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
