Janette Church New

Mrs. Janette Church New, age 89, of Melbourne, FL, was called home by her Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 20th, 2026. 

A graveside service will be held at 9:00 AM Friday, July 10th, 2026, at Lewis Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dwayne Andrews officiating. 

Janette Church New was born on October 18, 1936, in Boone, NC to her parents Earl and Ruby Parsons Church. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Melbourne, Florida and Lewis Fork Baptist Church in Wilkesboro, NC and was part of the Lewis Fork Community. She graduated from Wilkes Central High School in 1954 and from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1958. She then moved to Florida where she taught elementary school for 41 years. 

Janette was active in the Lewis Fork Church where she grew up playing the piano, singing, and teaching Bible School and was a Baptist Training Union Director. 

After her first husband, Charles New Sr.’s death in 2004, Janette married her high school sweetheart, Howard Tripplett, from Wilkesboro, NC, June 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Melbourne, Florida. 

Janette was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles William New, Sr., from Blairsville, PA and her second husband, Howard Triplett from North Wilkesboro. She is survived by her son, Charles William New, Jr. and his wife, (Kathleen Halldin-New) of Orlando, FL, and Cashiers, NC, and her daughter, Elaine New, of Melbourne, FL. Janette was blessed with four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
