Mr. James Ben “JB” Sloop, age 82 of North Wilkesboro passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his home.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, January 6, 2025, at Moravian Falls Cemetery with Deacon Fred Eldreth officiating.

James was born February 6, 1942, in Wilkes County to Paul Monroe and Ruby Olivine May Sloop. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter; Ella Tyler, a son; Christopher Graves and a brother; Bill Sloop.

He is survived by five daughters; Linda Sloop of North Wilkesboro, Ruby Dunn and husband Joe of Russellville, AR, Michelle Tyler of Russellville AR, Kim Sloop and Brenda Braswell, nine grandchildren; Alicia Treadwell, Hailey Dunn, Annelise Tyler, Dexter Tyler, James Graves, Garrett Graves, Jonah Graves, Skyler Graves, five great grandchildren; Christopher Graves, Hannah Graves, Aspen Graves, Chandler Graves, Zarren McDaniel, five sisters; Betty Eller of Wilkesboro, Lucy Hall of North Wilkesboro, Lillian Eldreth of Moravian Falls, Sarah Mehaffie of Blythe, GA, Norma Sloop of Moravian Falls and a brother; Warren Sloop and wife Mae of Hays.
