James Eller Obituary

James Thomas Eller, born September 24, 1976, departed this life on 04/08/2022.  He was born to Jack and Janice Eller in Wilkes County, North Carolina.  He graduated from Wilkes Central High School.

His lifelong dream was to open and operate his own business.  He accomplished this dream with the opening of Jack’s Sons Seafood Restaurant on April 18, 2020, during the height of the Covid Pandemic.  He worked tirelessly toward building his successful business while sacrificing his time, resources, and unlimited hours of hard work in the process. He generously gave to the community by feeding doctors, nurses, CNA’s, Registered Nurses, and other essential workers during the pandemic.  Jamie never turned anyone away if they had no means of paying.

Jamie was also a “hero” to his circle of family, friends and his peers.  He was always providing words of encouragement and was considered a mentor when approached about difficult times in their lives.

He was married to Izchel Eller on October 20, 2005.  After 11 years of trying to add to their family, their miracle child, Elaine, was born.  Thirteen months later, along came JJ.

Jamie was a loving husband, father, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.  His wife and children were the joy of his life. He was the most loving, caring, and giving husband.  He would bring breakfast in bed, put flowers in her car, and made sure Izchel was enticed with plenty of food and chocolate. There was nothing that he would not do for her or the family.  The word “spoiled” had no meaning to Jamie as he showered his children with all the love and affection possible.  He was a member of New Damascus Baptist Church in Wilkesboro, NC.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Elaine.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Izchel, his son JJ, his sister, Lena (John) Ellis, of North Wilkesboro; his brother Gene (Flo) Eller of Wilkesboro;  his sister-in law, Valery (Ambiorix) Guevara, Wilkesboro; his father and mother  in law, Marco and Rubi Martinez, his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Wilkesboro Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Hefner, Pastor Magdaleno Negrellos, Rev. Casey Walker, Rev. Keith Knox officiating.  Jamie will lie-in-state from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday before the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be in High View Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to James Thomas Eller, Jr. (JJ), 264 Kennedy Street, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 (all proceeds are to be made out to Rubi Izchel Eller).

Izchel and family wish to thank everybody for all acts of kindness, donations, clothing, food, financial assistance, and most importantly, your prayers during this tragic time in their lives.   She is especially grateful to her church family at New Damascus Baptist Church.
