James Vernon Jarvis

Mr. James Vernon Jarvis, age 81, husband of Jane Lenderman Jarvis, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his home.

  A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 16, 2020 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Tim Pruitt officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. 

  Mr. Jarvis was born August 16, 1939 in Wilkes County to Vernon Jarvis and Minnie Call Jarvis.  He was an ordained deacon, a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent of Sunday School.  He was also a Little League coach. 

  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Hendren; and four brothers, Ralph Shew, Lee Shew, Don Jarvis, Rex Jarvis.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Lenderman Jarvis, of the home; two sons, Tony Jarvis and Todd Jarvis, both of Wilkesboro; five grandchildren, Daniel Jarvis and wife, Taylor, Tim Jarvis and wife, Ashley, Sara Bryan and husband, Jared, Brianna Jarvis, and Hayeslei Jarvis; and five great-grandchildren, Lilli Jarvis, Kaylee Jarvis, Hadley Jarvis, Harper Jarvis, Holland Bryan.
