Mr. James Harley Glass, age 57 of North Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2024, at Fishing Creek Arbor Baptist Church in the sanctuary with Rev. David Wellborn and Mr. Eric Mastin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
Mr. Glass was born in Wilkes County to John Harley and Clara Bell Foster Glass. He retired from the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department, worked at Duncan Gun Shop for 18 years, and was a 30-year member of the Broadway Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Harley Glass; father-in-law, Jack Smithey; maternal grandparents, Jones and Vada Foster; and paternal grandparents, Parks and Maddie Glass.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Wendy Denise Brown Glass of the home; two daughters, Harlee Thompson (Michael) of North Wilkesboro and Madison Knox (Gabe) of Hays; one son, Jackson Glass of North Wilkesboro; three grandchildren, Makenzie Thompson, Ember Thompson, and Maxton Knox; his mother, Clara Bell Foster Glass of Charlotte; one sister, Judy Snow (Charles) of Fort Mill, SC; one brother, Mike Glass (Sandy) of North Wilkesboro; his mother-in-law, Fredia (Nana) Smithey, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family members that meant much to him.
