Mr. James “Jimmy” Thomas Foster, Jr. age 75 of Boomer went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Wilkes Health & Rehabilitation.
Jimmy was born June 27, 1947 in Forsyth County to James Thomas Foster, Sr and Geneva Smith Foster. He was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church and was a retired deacon and was a very active member until his health did not allow. Jimmy was owner/operator of Foster’s Superette on Hwy 115 for many years after retiring he joined his son in construction. He was a former member Speedway Ruritan Club, he enjoyed going to the YMCA, hunting, fishing, racing, and spending time with his great-grandchildren. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Karl Foster.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Faw Foster of the home; his step-mother, Lois Call Foster of Traphill; a son, Jamie Foster and wife Judith of Boomer; three grandchildren, Kody Foster, Kourtni Faw and husband Jeremiah, Katelyn OHearn and husband Brendan; six great-grandchildren, Brayden Faw, Braxton Faw, Noah Foster, Oliver Foster, Kayde Foster, Spencer OHearn,; four sisters, Shirley Staley of Mooresville, Judy Smith and husband Michael of Southern Pines, Angela Foster of Charlotte, Shelia Pait and husband Frank of Hickory; a brother, Steve Foster and wife Judy of Wilkesboro.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Liberty Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Sparks officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, June 2, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.
