James Allen Johnson

Mr. James Allen Johnson, age 82 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 at his home. 

Private Graveside services were held at Little Mtn. Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Mathis, Rev. Willie Kanupp and Rev. Roy Kanupp officiating.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Little Mtn. Baptist Church on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 3:00P.M.

Mr. Johnson was born July 24, 1938 in Wilkes County to Lester and Eulala Church Johnson.  He was a member of Little Mtn. Baptist Church.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters; Evelyn Jolly, Opal Shumate, Esta Mae Kanupp, Carol Kennedy, Mabel Kennedy and three brothers, Charles Johnson, Noah Johnson and Claude Johnson.  

He is survived by his wife; Wilma Mathis Johnson of the home, two daughters; Tammy Dancy and husband Wade, Miranda Denney and husband Steve both of North Wilkesboro, a son; Carlton Johnson and wife Tammy of Elkin, grandchildren; Kendall Johnson, Kelly Velasco and husband Emiliano, David Denney, Dylan Yates, Susan Hayes and Ben Dancy, great grandchildren; Vincent Yates, Baby Boy Velasco, Brenna Hayes, Kendra Hayes, Colin Hayes, Corbin Hayes, one sister; Carrie Billings of Traphill and one brother; Dale Johnson and wife Betty of Roanoke, VA.
